Well we were supposed to have Thomas' 8th birthday party this weekend, (his actual birthday was yesterday, but the party was supposed to be today) but obviously the weather did not allow that. We had 18 inches of snow here from yesterday to today! So, we were not able to have the party b/c we were all snowed in. Thomas didn't seem to upset, we gave him our gifts and we all played in the snow. But, as long as Thomas gets to stay in his pj's he is pretty happy. He was excited b/c we got him a new bike and Ninja Turtle toys. This was his first birthday in America. I was sad that we couldn't have his first party, but I believe that he was just happy to open his presents and spend the day at home (he is such a homebody). I think of where he was last year (in the orphanage in Liberia) how sad I was to be without him, and I am just greatful to God that Thomas is here with us this year. Welcome To Our World

Welcome to our first post!
Let me introduce my family and myself. First, there is Mike-he is my husband, best friend, father to our children and just all around great guy. Next, is Steven-he is 9 and in the 3rd grade. He is growing up way to fast and sometimes he knows it:). Next, is Thomas-he is 8 (just had a birthday yesterday 3/7) and in the 1st grade. We adopted Thomas from Liberia last year in May 2007. He has be a perfect fit for our family and we thank God for both of our boys. God led us to Thomas and through the entire adoption process. We loved seeing God working throughout the whole process. Finally, there's me, Andrea-I am 33 and a wife, mother and Christian who is trying to show others what God has done in our lives and follow what God has for me and my family. It is not always clear, but we have learned that when you follow Him, He is an wonderful guide (and He also throws some surprises in there too)! He has certainly helped us through some pretty tough times (the death of both of my parents and Mike's father).
Mike and I have been married for almost 12 years. We met in college and pretty much the rest is history. Not to exciting how we met, but I did ask him out first:). Mike has a wonderful sense of humor and makes life exciting! He is also a great dad to our boys and a great husband to me! We have been together ever since. We're not perfect, but we ask God to help us each day and we are there for each other.
